Listen carefully as Tortugas Jack gives us valuable lessons before we board the Yankee Freedom II Ferry for our 70 mile journey. We arrived in a rain storm setting the stage for remarkable footage of this most inaccessible National Park.

The fort was started in 1846 and saw active use from 1860 to 1930's. It is a massive but unfinished coastal fortress. It is the largest masonry structure in the Western Hemisphere, and is composed of over 16 million bricks.
