Bodyguards and Assassins............the Chinese connection to the USA........is a very deep one.......

CHINESE ASSASSINS & ESPIONAGE

CHINESE ASSASSINS & ESPIONAGE

The below is based on Theory and for Theoretical purposes only.
Chinese Assassins & Espionage. Legend says that during the Qing Dynasty, Yim Wing Chun kept her promise and after her marriage Yim Wing Chun taught her husband Leung Bok Chau who in turn taught the second generation practitioners of Wing Chun Kuen. From intense research we have found clues that these students worked as a Red Boat Opera Troupe by day and anti-Qing revolutionaries by night. Passing these techniques on to Leung Lan Kwai. Leung Lan Kwai who then passed them on to Wong Wah Bo. Wong Wah Bo who was a member of an opera troupe on board a junk, known to Chinese as the Red Junk. Wong worked on the Red Junk with Leung Yee Tei. It so happened that Abbot Chi Shin, who fled from Siu Lam, had disguised himself as a cook and was then working on the Red Junk. Many of the opera members had training in Siu Lam fist and pole techniques, acrobatics and various two man sets. Their identities as Chinese opera performers provided a cover for martial arts training; however, the flashy moves of opera style martial arts were not suited to the activities of espionage and assassination, which required extremely specialized skills.
Research tells us that these Master’s were not just “hiding out” they had a purpose. These Master’s wanted the Chinese Free from tyranny and oppression. Wing Chun was created for just this purpose a close combat guerrilla tactic realistic marital art style. The Fast hands and quick structure of Wing Chun Kung Fu used with Butterfly Swords or knives would rip an opponent apart. Attacks to the Throat and diaphragm were key objectives within the system of Wing Chun, silencing there opponent’s. These Master’s wanted to be free of the Ching Dynasty, the ability to train themselves and revolutionaries, evolve their Shaolin Kung Fu and Wing Chun’s fighting prowess and disrupt the Qing (also known as Ching or Manchurian) Dynasty goals and aspirations. They traveled from port to port, hiding in plain site as the painted faces of a mobile Opera troupe. They were in a sense using there skills in the martial arts as Chinese Assassins, using their close quarter combat skills to engage high ranking generals and officials. These assassinations targeted high ranking officials and generals which were usually protected by bodyguards. We know Wing Chun was designed to be close quarter, making the most out of space, time and a weaker statures individual. We know Wing Chun was made to redirect and use an opponent’s energy against them and stop other forms of Martial Arts used by the Qing (also known as Ching or Manchurian) Dynasty which included all forms of Chinese martial arts, and supposedly Japanese and Korean hard type styles as well. The Shaolin Temple creators of Wing Chun knew that the soldiers and bodyguards of the Qing (also known as Ching or Manchurian) Dynasty were well fed, trained and armed, where as the Chinese were weaker because they were fed less and Kung Fu training was banned. Wing Chun would have to be a hugely powerful system of Kung Fu to overcome such odds. Wing Chun attacks the center vitals, if a Master(s) met a target such as a general or ranked official in the close alleys of China, they could use the quick strikes to the vitals, such as the chest, throat, ribs, groin, and arteries. Wing Chun’s design could deal with an opponent that may call out for reinforcements using quick and silent assassinations on one or multiple opponents were necessary. Everything in Wing Chun can be used with a knife in your hand. This explains certain technical aspects of Wing Chun, such as its emphasis on close-range combat and its many strikes to the throat and diaphragm, though not limited to these vital areas.

ADVANCED STAGES OF WING CHUN TRAINING

In the most advanced stages of Wing Chun and not shown in normal training is the a kill or be killed mind-set / attitude. This level of training tells you to do whatever you must to defend your life and those of your loved ones. A sense of cruel intended attitude and the most directly dangerous techniques are to be performed against the assailant’s. The most unforgiving mind set is employed and puts the practitioner into a mentality of life or death and to use everything that the Wing Chun fighter has been trained in to completely desolation their opponent. Since Wing Chun was made specifically to counter and destroy the Qing (also known as Ching or Manchuran) Soliders, Generals, Body Guards and Politicians it was applied in guerrilla warfare and assassination. The Red Boat members were also affiliated with many anti-Qing groups including the Tien Dei Wui (Heaven and Earth Society) and their goal was to overthrow the Manchurians and restore the Ming to the Throne of China. Wing Chun Kuen was their art of choice. As an opera troupe, they could move about freely at any time without question. They could hid knives in their loose fitting garments and assasinate Qing officials in the narrow alleys of southern China. Yim Wing Chun’s art was composed of simple, direct, economical movements and was conceptual in content. Training consisted of repetitive techniques and fighting combinations that could be practiced in the air, with a partner, on a wooden dummy or with knives. At this point in the development of Wing Chun Kuen, there were no structured forms. This did not come until later, but the techniques and fighting capabilities live on and are taught by those individual’s who seek out and wish to instruct everything the art provides. Wing Chun controls, attacks and empowers individuals in every class they take because dedication is always rewarded through experience, knowledge and trained skill. Like the masters of old we focus in on the practical applications and combative techniques of Wing Chun and teach the forms in order to seek inner and outer meditative peace and perfection within our lives in and out of the Sifu Och & Wing Chun Kung Fu association.

MODERN WING CHUN TRAINING

Today, Wing Chun teaches practitioner’s for the safety of there family, our country is not over run by an outside government looking to take over and oppress us. We use Wing Chun to develop our minds and bodies and keep those we love safe from harm. We teach all the aspects of Wing Chun with the mindset of “last minute resort” this means that when everything else has failed and we have attempted to leave, run or escape from danger Wing Chun is our absolute last resort. We use our heads to think first, our mind and mouth to deescalate a situation and our hands and feet to leave before we have to use Wing Chun. Why? In Wing Chun we are not for sport, we are a realistic combat self defense martial art, forged to take down a Dynasty, developed to uplift the weak and protect them against the oppressive and strong. Wing Chun does not “play fight” it does not seek to get points or look fancy, Wing Chun is for real self defense. That is why it is so hard to find a real self defense because many people like to “play fight”, many people ask “how much and when can I get a black belt”. You get what you pay for and you gain the skill that goes along with the belt and the belt comes with dedication and effort. Belts are good for marking achieved skill and placement, but look for a school that also has a teacher focused in on skill and ability and you will go far.
