Why is that important??????????  90 degrees..........the amount of a right angle in a right triangle...................2 and 3....................if 2 and 3 are the lengths of the smaller two sides of a right triangle...........per the P theorem..........the length of the hyp is the square root of 13.............

In elementary geometry, the property of being perpendicular (perpendicularity) is the relationship between two lines which meet at a right angle (90 degrees). The property extends to other related geometric objects. A line is said to be perpendicular to another line if the two lines intersect at a right angle.

Perpendicular and Parallel. Perpendicular. It just means at right angles (90°) to. The red line is perpendicular to the blue line in each of these examples: Perpendicular Examples. (The little box drawn in the corner, means "at right angles", so we didn't really need to also show that it was 90°, but we just wanted to!)
