One of the highlights of that tour of duty was taking a battle field study of Iwo Jima..............my grandfather said his whole boot camp platoon went here........and they all died save for like 3 men.......he was one of them...................to live.......but he didn't go..........b/c he knew how to type well..........80 wpm..........and knew short hand..................and had an associate's degree........they made him a court reporter on Parris Island for 6 months or so...........and then they shipped him to Guam.......
