IF they were impeached..............................why did they not leave....? To me .........in general..........it was a stop gap...........so a president would not act like a dictator......................and do awful things..............................................................................the wording of .........impeachment and conviction..................were to me...........just formalities on the same process..................they both had to agree to fire that person.........impeachment........is just a fancy word........for "your fired".................................like the President signing bills into laws........or vetoing them........................................the trick to me is in the wording................Clinton..............was actually impeached..............but the Senate never convicted him.........so he got to go on living in the WHITE house........
Morris ended up making a change to the impeachment clause of the Constitution that Treanor argues is meant to allow for an expansive view of executive impeachment. The version of the clause from the proceedings on the convention referred to the style committee stated: “He shall be removed from his office on impeachment by the House of Representatives, and conviction by the Senate, for treason or bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors against the United States.”
