The great library of Alexandria was in Egypt........but it burned during Alex the Great's conquering days........not Julius Caesar's..................also what I am getting at is the historical connections in the Med.............a very old one........the Trojan War.......Helen of Troy...........the mausoleum.................of Halicarncus, which was in Turkey....
