Jamestown, VA..........Pocohontas.....

You would think that 17 years after the release of Mulan, there’d be nothing about the epic Disney film that would shock you… but you’d be WRONG. Just like other classics Beauty and the Beast and Pocohontas, the China-based story is packed with hidden nuggets. Here are five of the most jaw-dropping:

1. There’s a connection to Tarzan. If you look closely, a miniature version of Mulan’s dog, Little Brother, falls out of Jane’s dad’s pockets. While this could just be seen as an Easter Egg, Disney Theory had a different idea in mind: “It’s a mascot Jane’s father took with him on all his adventures. Little Brother’s appearance in Mulan must be based on that toy, meaning Jane or one of her siblings went on to work in the movie industry and included the mascot in honor of their adventurer father.” Mulan hit theaters a year before Tarzan did, though, so… Not so sure about this one.
