Why would a water fall be a good place to stockpile gold?.........in the ancient world..........it is easy to find............and easy to defend..................Europeans and others built moats around castles to protect them...................a waterfall has one entrance.........maybe............behind the water fall..............and invading armies would have to go into a small area to take out the gold...........they would be easier to pick off like that.........they would have to both slow down and go in the cave almost single file.....
Also...........u would have to build a big building...........temple, whatever to store gold, above ground........but cave already exists...............the invading army would bottle neck at the entrance to the cave.........it would be very difficult to attack place like that...........
