This analogy is not exact..............but it is to show how things start are not how they end up being and in many cases there are so many stories and urban legends that it is difficult to figure out what happened to begin with.................my maternal grandmother prepared this a lot when I lived with her............................I, like many, thought it was Irish................it is more accurately Irish American...........I was watching soccer in English........which was rare for me........I usually watched it in Spanish.................the commentators are usually British or Irish.........Scottish, etc...............and this time it was an Irish analyst who said that corn beef and cabbage was not Irish............but something the Irish immigrants in Hells Kitchen part of NYC did b/c cabbage is cheap and when they could afford a piece of meat...........they made a meal out of it.............
