1971 Press Photo James McDivitt hands Moon canceled stamped envelope to Ruddell
This is an original press photo. Top is the envelope and stamps that Apollo 15 commander David R. Scott carried to the surface of the Moon and hand canceled. The stamps were issued to commemorate "A Decade of Space Achievement." Bottom picture shows former Astronaut Colonel James A. McDivitt, manager of the Apollo Spacecraft program,presenting the Moon canceled envelope and pouch it was carried in to Paul Ruddell, assistant manager of the Philatelic Division of the U.S. Postal Service in Washington.Photo measures 8 x 10inches. Photo is dated 08-19-1971.
