Also the benefit of the doubt.........which is 100% up to the referee..........France scores 1st.....on what might have been an offsides call...............it is not where u are when u touch it or make a move towards the ball.....but where u are when the ball is played forward......even if the French striker didn't touch the ball.......if u was in an offside position when the ball was played forward towards him and he makes a move on it......it is 100% offside......u need both.....to be in an offside position and to make a move towards it....whether u touch it or not...........and it doesn't matter where u are when u touch it or move towards it....as in u could be behind the defense when u touch it or move towards it.......only when it is played forward.........an offside call would have nullified France's 1st goal...

And the 2nd one looked iffy.........just b/c it does touch your hand..................is not enough for a penalty.....it is your intent.....which to be fair......it looked like it could have gone either way.....b/c sometimes a defender will play it off............the Croatian defender was close to the French striker....so he did not have much time to react....but he did have some.......so it could have been non incidental contact....or he could have meant to touch it....it is difficult to judge intent......but France got the benefit of the call.....a penalty kick is the clearest opportunity in soccer......like a free throw in basketball....like my friend Bac compared it.....the striker has the advantage.............and of course not having your goal called back favored France..

French is one of the 4 official languages of FIFA.......hq.............the country it is in....Switzerland...................probable favoritism.....i am not 100% sure...but it looks like it...
