 A plant with a stand...........50 times us....


The New Caledonian fork fern (Tmesipteris oblanceolata) has the largest known plant genome, containing 160 billion base pairs of DNA, more than 50 times the size of the human genome. This record was set after the discovery that dethroned the previous holder, the Japanese flowering plant Paris japonica.
