I remember watching mutual of omaha's wild animal kingdom, Merlin Perkins..........this would not cost anything, just take a blow dart hit some squirrel, bird, rat, etc in the area, and test their virus they had bioengineered..

Id it with some distinctive tag, so u know which one u shot with the whatever, Under the Silver Lake, some dead squirrel, the guy who looks like me sees in the woods...

When researchers need to uniquely identify individual lions for study and conservation purposes, they employ a technique involving immobilization and the application of identification collars.
Here's how the process generally works:
  • Immobilization: A qualified veterinarian uses a dart gun to administer a sedative to the lion from a safe distance, typically from a vehicle.
  • Collaring: Once the lion is safely immobilized and sleeping, the research team fits a collar equipped with a GPS unit, which records the animal's location, and a VHF unit, which emits a radio signal.
  • Data Collection: While the lion is sedated, researchers also take measurements, determine its age and sex, and capture photos of unique identifying features like whisker spots and ear notches. They may also collect biological samples such as blood, urine, saliva, and ticks to assess the lion's physiological status.
