On September 11, 2001, a total of seven buildings within the World Trade Center complex in New York City collapsed due to the terrorist attacks. These included the two iconic Twin Towers (WTC 1 and WTC 2), and WTC 7, a 47-story building. The collapses also caused severe damage to four other buildings in the complex, rendering them unusable.
