Right after the war,,,,,,,,,the USA had a big military..........b/c there had just been a war..............but soon after WW1 ended.......there was the roaring 20s.............then the great depression of the 1930s.......................it was really only after WW2................that the military was emphasized.......of course during the Rev. war or any wartime it was...........but the continous emphasis on the Dept. of Defense really only began after WW2..............which took place in the 1940s.............then the USA helped South Korea in the 1950s...............and South Vietnam in the 1960s and 1970s...............and a whole bunch of small battles and such until the 1990s, they helped Kuwait.............then they up and decided to invade Iraq in 2003.................
