In 2013, the U. S. General Services Administration leased the property for 60 years to The Trump Organization. The Trump Organization said it would develop the property into a luxury hotel to be named Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. The food court and stores closed in January 2014,^[2] while the remaining offices and the clock tower closed on May 1, 2014, as the renovation began.^[3]
