My maternal grandfather..............Paul Alexander Ruddell................was born here in 1918.........he met his wife.................born Jesse Pauline Barker.................here in DC, on a blind date in the 1930s......................she was here to attend nursing school...........he was here to work for the Post Office............................he was drafted in WW2........into the USMC........he went to Parris Island.........and was a court reporter on base.......then he was shipped to Guam...
