For one...........so they could tell the farmers when to water the crops.............u wouldn't need to water them if it was going to rain..........but u say................just water them.........if it rains....................just more water...............................so either way u are right................so always water..............not necessarily...........too much water can be just as bad as too little...............you cannot put a tarp over all the corn fields....................it would be exceedingly difficult.....................so IF u knew it was not going to rain for awhile............u could tell the farmers to water....................if it was going to rain...........there would no need to water them................and a little drizzle is very different from a monsoon type of rain.............................

Also..........think of the price of NOT getting it correct..................................tons of crops ruined...........so many people on our planet..............................
