We would also play chess and spades on watch...................during down times..........the comm center was 24/7............it was shift work......overnight often......................we also played basketball quite a bit..........I played a lot with Diego O.......particularly.....basketball................a Mexican man from Uvalde, TX........who was shorter than me........but always beat me........I only beat him once...........me and Diego played tennis a lot too...........he beat me mostly at that as well............and golf............in fact the 1st time I played golf..........I played in Yuma with Diego..........................

Another comm center member was a Black man from Virginia......................who got married in Yuma and had a son........me and Lupita drove to see him and Matt V.............a white man from Billings, Montana...........who was married and had a son.......named Luke.........and a daughter................................the Black man from Virginia................his last name started with a B...........................he said he lived like a mile from his family's mailbox...........somewhere in rural Virginia, I forgot where.......................................I saw H........from Ohio...........went I visited the great serpentine mound in 2012............he bought me dinner at a local Wendy's and filled my car with gas...............he is a white man..............and was the shift leader when I 1st got to Yuma...........we played chess quite a bit..................












I had several roommates when I was stationed in Yuma, AZ..........one was a Black man.........from Buffalo, NY.......................he was married to a Japanese national..........whom he had met on Okinawa............................Cpl B.............B was his last name............................anyways........he knew Japanese and would write to his wife in Kanji I think...........he was quite intelligent and creative..........he could draw well..........speak Japanese................................was into comic books................AND he could do stunts on bicycles........I think I saw him in NE recently........near the VA........................but again.........I am the racist one.....................................I guess u like to test my memory................he did bike stunts at Abel Sierra's girlfriends house one day..........she had some house party there.............a local Mexican woman...........Patty..............her brother is Abel's god son........................we drove..........Abel, his then girlfriend Carol...........to Yuma, AZ..........and a little South towards the Mexican border to visit Abel's god son..........I think he had wanted to marry Patty at one point..............this was in like 1997..........when I visited Abel and Carol.......at Carol's condo in San Bernardino, CA............a little north of Los Angeles...........
