I took the bus from Woodbridge, VA to Jacksonville, Nc.............and got to Ft. Lejeune for combat training.........a month in January of 1990...................we did most of it on Camp Geiger.........I never told anyone that my grandfather was Gen Geiger's personal secretary on Guam.........when he was the commanding officer of forward echelon Marine Pacific in WW2...........................after that I went to 29 Palms for Communication center school...........................2542.........I graduated 1st place............I actually tied with another Marine............my 1st duty station was here.....
