Or was it like the Turk??  A chess machine............................a human aide??  Was IBM's main goal to beat Garry K.............or map out all the statistical possibilities..............and get the perfect signal from the noise......................................???  I bet both............but the later the more........great players at anything come and go...............but for a computer scientist.............writing the perfect code would be better than beating the best player......................and that is why I think IBM declined on a best out of 3................they ended in a tie...........................the 1st series went to Garry K.......the 2nd to IBM..........

If u were to make the perfect code................and wanted to test it...........who better than the man with the best chess score in history??  And if they did play the 3rd time.......maybe they thought someone might figure out their coding...........b/c they never gave Garry K.........their algorithms..........or any test games..............................they refused...............to make public any test games they had or give out any lines of code...........the only games we have are the 12 it played against Garry K........which is why he thought they were cheating...........I think it was b/c they didn't want to reveal their statistical systems they had mapped out..............b/c competing computer companies could use them.......which is something u see in Bit Coin..................they steal the Latina's code.............

After the game Kasparov accused the Deep Blue team of cheating (i.e. having a team of human masters to aid the computer). Although Kasparov wanted another rematch, IBM declined and ended their Deep Blue program.
