Tavernier tells a story...................of how when the ship docked at S. Africa.........they asked a group of native healers in South Africa to help those on board who were ill......................so the native healers went on ship and inspected the ill..........then they went into the South African country side and got leaves. urbs..........roots........whatever they knew of to help the ill.......according to the illness each had...........and according to Tavernier..........in like 2 weeks everyone who was ill was supposedly almost symptom free.........or symptom free.........

On the way back from his last trip to India.............the Frenchman who wrote this.........and when he supposedly brought back the Hope diamond...............he was brought back by the Dutch East India company..........they stopped in South Africa.........b/c so many on the ship had gotten sea sick........or suffered from something else.......
