George Washington Memorial Society
The Board of Directors of The George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association approved the creation of a new Society comprising a select group of members who are dedicated to supporting the Memorial and its Mission. The purpose of the Society is to raise support for the George Washington Masonic National Memorial and to increase awareness of the Memorial and its mission among Freemasons and in the community. Our Vision: “To inspire humanity through education to emulate and promote the virtues, character and vision of George Washington, the Man, the Mason and Father of our Country.”
The George Washington Masonic National Memorial was built in the 1920s by the more than two million American Freemasons who wished to:
“express in durability and beauty the undying esteem of the Freemasons of the United States for him in whose memory it shall stand throughout the coming years.”
This magnificent structure is privately funded through the grateful contributions of Freemasons and others, and remains open to the public, seven days a week.
The George Washington Masonic National Memorial is more than a colossal memorial and museum. It is a tourist attraction and destination; research center and library; community center; performing arts center and concert hall; banquet and celebration site; and meeting site for local and countless visiting Masonic lodges and organizations. However, first and foremost, it is a memorial to honor and perpetuate the memory, character and virtues of the man who best exemplifies what Freemasons are and ought to be, Brother George Washington.
Notice: The Memorial will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. The building will reopen at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 8.

Open seven days a week, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Admission
- General Admission (first & second floor exhibits) — $7
- Guided Tour (includes tower exhibits & observation deck) — $10
- Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and are admitted to the Memorial and guided tours for free.
Guided Tours
Guided tours of the museum are offered to the general public
- Tours Daily at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. & 4:00 p.m.
Guided tours take about one hour and include rooms on the second floor and floors in the tower, including the observation deck.
Tour Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
No reservations are allowed.
Parties of ten persons or more and special interest groups are required to make use of the Group Guided Tour program (see below).

(for groups of ten or more people)
Parties of ten or more persons and special interest groups (such as Masonic groups, school groups, cub scouts, clubs, etc.) are required to make use of the Group Guided Tour program.
Apply here to make a Group Tour reservation request. Please make your request at least two weeks in advance of the tour date desired.
