Tell me if something doesn't pop out at you..............there are two Middle Eastern teams in Russia's group........Saudi Arabia and Egypt.......now........to be fair......Egypt.....geographically is in Africa.......so they have to go through the African qualifiers......and count as an African country...all groups are not supposed to mixed up......as in feature nations from different regions.........Saudi Arabia is in Asia.....the Middle East is a region of the Asian continent.....FIFA does its qualifications by continents........and every group should have countries from different continents..........but since Europe has 13 spots.....some groups will have two European teams.......
Now the rub.........u see the issues in the Middle East region.........right now........Isis........Syria........refugees.........Russian airstrikes in Syria.........the American invasion of Iraq in 2003......has caused tremendous problems in that whole area.......and although it is true that Egypt is in Africa......it is a Muslim country......and the people are mostly Arabic.........AND physically....Egypt is not far from the Middle East.....of all the Northern African Muslim countries.......from Morocco in the West to Egypt in the East........Egypt is the country that is closest to the Middle East.........of the Arabic/Muslim countries.......................
