Rob Parish was good ...........a center I think..........a Black man...........but two White players were equally as good...........considered so anyways...........Larry Bird and Kevin McHale...............they didn't want a Black man to take center stage and upstage Larry Bird..........the whites lost Pistol Pete M......................that is the way they look at it.................the timing of his death says a lot.............................


Red A picks him.............and less than two days later.............Len Bias ends up dead.................then the UMD fires coach Lefty Drisell.........................JMU in Virginia picks him up...............JMU is my alma mater............what an odd karma I have indeed............in fact..................Lefty's son.........Chuck...............gave a talk in my psychology 102 class.............sports psychology.........he even asked us if any of us played point guard that the school needed one.................even more.........interesting is that Chuck played in a NCAA game...........for his father at Maryland............and was in the game late..........against North Carolina..................he usually came off the bench............was not starter..................and that game...........one of the starters had fouled out.............and he went in and got the ball late in the game..............and was wide open..........North Carolina left him open.............b/c he hardly ever played...........he said he got the ball deep in the paint and took it up to score..........but Michael Jordan came from the top of the key to block his shot......................the crowd called foul................but they let Jordan get away with it if it was a foul.........................the univ of North C.........won the whole thing....................Chuck played for his father in Maryland and was an assistant coach at JMU............................

The Celtics were coming off an NBA championship year, winning for the second time in three seasons. Bird had said he would show up at rookie camp because he wanted to play with Bias.
