The tour of duty on Okinawa for an unaccompanied Marine..........not married........was a year at that time...........but the 1st gulf war broke out...............and any Marine who got to Okinawa in April of 1990...............which was me............got an involuntary extension................of 6 months............then they lost my paper work...........I ended up staying on Okinawa for 195 months.
