My granparents had a cottage, also in Chinese style, i would stay on the 2nd floor during my college years in the summer, they would rent it out when i was a kid, i would try to pal around with people, all my life, my daughter is also very friendly like me..

The scenario of 6 people total in a cottage with a victim and five others could refer to several real-life crime cases. The most prominent one where all six inhabitants were victims is the unsolved Hinterkaifeck murders. 
Hinterkaifeck Murders (1922)
In this infamous unsolved German crime, all six people present at the remote Hinterkaifeck farmstead (often described as a cottage or small farm) were murdered with a a mattock on March 31, 1922. 
The victims were:
  • Andreas Gruber (63), the family patriarch
  • Cäzilia Gruber (72), his wife
  • Viktoria Gabriel (35), their widowed daughter
  • Cäzilia Gabriel (7), Viktoria's daughter
  • Josef Gruber (2), Viktoria's son
  • Maria Baumgartner (44), the new maid 
The perpetrator lived in the house with the corpses for three days after the murders, eating food and feeding the animals, before leaving. 
Other Relevant Cases
  • Robison family murders (1968): A family of six was killed in their cottage near Good Hart, Michigan. The victims included two adults and four children, all shot to death.
  • Pottery Cottage murders (1977): An escaped prisoner, William Hughes, held a family of five hostage in Pottery Cottage, ultimately murdering four of them. The sole survivor was Gill Moran, who was saved by police marksmen who shot Hughes.
  • White House Farm murders (1985): Five members of the Bamber family were shot and killed at their farmhouse in Essex, England. The adopted son, Jeremy Bamber, was the only surviving immediate family member and was later convicted of the murders.
  • A 2016 Ohio incident saw five teens shot (none fatally) at a cottage resort area during a party.
  • A recent 2024 mass shooting in a wealthy Washington state cabin resulted in five family members dead.
