B/c we Washingtonian's shared the Homestead Grays..........with a suburb of Pittsburgh...............we won 3 World Series..............and one in 1924...........the MLB..............Wash Senators............who are now the Minnesota Twins..........................same francise..........this is the 1st World Series of the Montreal Expos..............history.....................they never went when in Montreal.......but strickly for DC centered teams..................one MLB title.........in 1924..........and 3 Negro League titles............they called them the "Fabulous Homestead Grays".....................they were considered the best...


1943, 1944 and 1948........................................so 71 years since a title..........if the Nats can win.............they won game 1.................will play Friday.........they can win at home......here in DC.............

Homestead Grays was one of the most successful of the professional Negro League baseball teams. They won ten Negro National League Titles (1937-1945, 1948) and three Negro League World Series Titles (1943-1944, 1948), where they played the champion of the Negro American League.May 9, 2009
