From Penn............Homestead, PA.................they ended up playing more than half their games in DC..........probably b/c of DC's prominent Black pop.........they won 3 Negro League World titles...................so DC does have a baseball history...........the Senators.................were one of the best teams in the 20s and 30s...............................making the World Series twice........winning once.......the president would attend the 1st game.........................................
May 9, 2009 - Homestead Grays (1912-1950) Homestead Grays was one of the most successful of the professional Negro League baseball teams. They won ten Negro National League Titles (1937-1945, 1948) and three Negro League World Series Titles (1943-1944, 1948), where they played the champion of the Negro American League.
