  • The Restroom Claim: Through their attorney, the gas station owners released a statement denying that the child ever asked to use the restroom. [1]
  • Surveillance Review: The owner claimed the store's surveillance footage—which was reviewed by the Houston Police Department—shows the child never actually came inside to ask and that the restrooms were fully functional that day. [1]
  • Employee Firing: Despite the denial about the initial interaction, the owners confirmed the clerk who shared the video was fired and "gone never to return". [1]
