2 to the 1 + 2i.......is just two times........two to the two i..............................any number has an exponent of 1.......2 to the one ....is just two................so what is...........two to the 2i............using the idea that i can be seen as one unit above negative one...............as an effort to complete the square root function West of zero........................just use the cartesian graph......coordinates.......and make the imaginary direction into the 3 d.....direction above the piece of paper........

henever you multiply two terms with the same base, you can add the exponents:
x m ) ( x n ) = x( m + n )
However, we can NOT simplify (x4)(y3), because the bases are different: (x4)(y3) = x‍x‍x‍xyyy = (x4)(y3). Nothing combines.
