• He co-founded the successful film companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company.
• He was convicted in New York in February 2020 and sentenced to 23 years in prison.
• In April 2024, his New York conviction was overturned by the state's highest court due to procedural errors, and a retrial was ordered.
