More favoritism, what would happen if ALL the teams within a group tied, very, very unlikely, but possible, ranking is the last tie break, who they like basically, it should be time of possesion, shots on goal, maybe corner kicks won, corner kicks given up, IF after all that, all the regualar stats, exactly the same, damn nearly impossible, then the ranking, b/c there has to be an objective way to determine who goes forward,

1. The Main Group Stats
If every team finishes with the exact same point totals and goal differentials in their overall games, FIFA looks at the total accumulated group stats: [1]
  • Total goals scored: The team(s) that scored the most total goals across all three group matches will advance.
2. Fair Play (Team Conduct) Score
If the teams are still completely equal, disciplinary records are calculated as a score (where yellow and red cards yield penalty deductions): [1, 2]
  • Yellow card: -1 point
  • Indirect red card (two yellows): -3 points
  • Direct red card: -4 points
  • Yellow card followed by a direct red: -5 points
  • The team with the highest conduct score (fewest deductions) advances. [1, 2]
3. FIFA Ranking
If teams have the exact same goals scored and disciplinary records, the tie is broken using the official FIFA Men's World Ranking. The country positioned highest on the global leaderboard advances. [1, 2, 3, 4]
