Look at the map closely..............if u were a ship's captain............back in the 1500s.........1600s..........1700s............and had to get.........from Columbia specifically..........back to Western Europe............and u knew of the existence of the Gulf stream............a current which runs south to north.....................what path would u take?............i would go east of Jamaica........and then between Cuba and Haiti.............
