So why dig?  Well...........look at all the types of stuff the Smithsonian inst. is into............gems......archeology..........artifacts...........languages...........nature preservation.........art........fossils................u just dig........and whatever u find u find..........with the sheer amount of potential buried treasure..................possible gemstones..............arrow heads......pottery.........art from ancient cultures...................fossils of dinos.......fish.........etc............it would be kinda like going to an antique store.............u never know what treasure u will find.
