What i am getting at is this...................if u were into mining..........back in the 1500s.........until say 1800...............or agriculture..............chocolate production was big..........and so was tobacco........Virginia...............Cuba..........etc.....................and Mayan, Aztec, and Inca gold, diamonds, emeralds.......rubies............and pearls.........etc................and u were a ships captain........and u had to sail from South America.............back to Western Europe...........whether u were going to England, Spain, Portugal........France......................Holland........etc.................from Columbia.........specifically........................and u knew there was the gulf stream..........back then there were no steam engines............no nuclear powered air craft carriers.............u needed trade winds and gulf streams.......................what would be the most direct route...............from Columbia???
