Me and my brother.........Dave.........would fly standby..............by ourselves.........even across the country, at a very young age......we could fly for free.............b/c we were his dependents.........my mother had full custody..........................and he had to pay child support..............but not alimony for some reason.............anyways............b/c he worked for American Airlines and Dave and I were his dependents..........we could fly for free.................even though he lived in California and we lived in Delaware he had to pay child support, he would sometimes come to Rehoboth to visit or to Dale City, VA...............and we would fly out to see him sometimes...........................................our stepfather would sometimes drive us to the airport........Kirby lithograph was in Arlington, VA.....near national airport..............and we had ticket stubs Bruce gave us.....................so if the plane had space...........we could fly for free.
We would go up to the gate.....................give them the American ticket stubs our "dad" gave us..............and tell them we wanted on that flight..........they put our name on a list........standby was 1st come, 1st serve...............since there were only two of us............we always got on........I don't think most airlines are fully booked and b/c of traffic, deaths in the family, unforeseen circumstances, etc........some people who had reservations cannot make it...........at like 10 and 9........Dave is a year younger than I.................we would fly from IAD Dulles..........or National................all the way across the country to San Fran................he would pick us up at the International airport in San Francisco, CA.....................where he still lived in the A Frame house............in Half Moon Bay, CA.......that we had lived in as kids....................then American transferred him to Dallas............Dallas - Ft Worth......................which is the hub of their company...............the headquarters..............Bruce worked logistics in San Fran...........how much fuel is to be put in the plane, how much weight, luggage the plane can support, etc............it is what he did in Army Intel.........when he was stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland..................during Vietnam..........

In DFW..........Dallas - Ft Worth.........he worked in reservations......the call center...
