Top downhill skiing speeds in World Cup racing exceed 100 mph (160 km/h), with the record at 100.6 mph (161.9 km/h) by Johan Clarey in 2013; however, the absolute speed skiing world record is much higher, held by Simon Billy at 158.76 mph (255.5 km/h) set in 2023, a specialized event focused purely on maximum speed.
