Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced she will give her prime ticket to the opening match of the 2026 World Cup to a young female fan who otherwise would not be able to attend. 
During FIFA President Gianni Infantino's visit to Mexico in August 2025, Sheinbaum was presented with the honorary ticket number 00001 for the opening match, which will take place on June 11, 2026, at the historic Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
