Not even Jessie Owens nor Usain Bolt can out run a speed skater..

The Winter Olympics feature incredibly fast sports, with Luge often being the absolute fastest, reaching over 130 km/h (80 mph), followed closely by Skeleton and Bobsleigh, while Alpine Skiing (Downhill) and Speed Skating also offer speeds exceeding 100 km/h (60 mph). Compared to the Summer Olympics, many Winter events (like skiing, snowboarding, luge, bobsled) involve greater speeds and more unpredictable, spectacular crashes, making them feel more intense and faster-paced than many Summer counterparts like fencing or horseback riding, though Summer cycling can rival these speeds.
