When Alexander T. Ruddell was born on 1 October 1822, in Madison, Illinois, United States, his father, William Ruddell, was 28 and his mother, Rebeka Tucker, was 24. He married Catharine Anne Haymaker on 2 September 1851, in Jeffersonville Township, Clark, Indiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Oregon Township, Clark, Indiana, United States in 1860. He died on 1 April 1893, in Clark, Indiana, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Charlestown, Charlestown Township, Clark, Indiana, United States.
